Finally the wait is over as BCCI announces Indian squad for T20 World Cup 2021. On Wednesday, 8 September Board of Control for Cricket in India did the announcement Indian squad for T20 World Cup 2021 which is scheduled to commence from October 18 in Oman and United Arab Emirates.

Ravichandran Ashwin became part of Indian squad for T20 World Cup 2021

Senior off- spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin has gained the place in the Indian squad for T20 World Cup 2021.

Previously, Ravichandran Ashwin failed to gain place in India squad for Test against England.

Former cricketers and fans reacted on the decision of his omission. They were quite disappointed with the decision of not including Ravichandran Ashwin. But now he got the golden opportunity to show his vigor in the mega event.

Chief selector Chetan Sharma said “Ashwin is an asset. He performed well in the IPL and we needed a player of his experience. We need an off-spinner with Washington (Sundar) injured.”

“Ashwin is the only off-spinner in the squad,” he added.

Ravichandran Ashwin expressed his happiness with the help of tweet.

Omission of Shikhar Dhawan from Indian squad for T20 World Cup 2021

After the announcement of Indian squad for T20 World Cup 2021 the highlighted point of discussion is omission of Shikhar Dhawan from Indian squad for T20 World Cup 2021.

The decision of not including Shikhar Dhawan is quite shocking. Moreover the reason this big decision is also yet unknown.

Recently, Shikhar Dhawan, led the team India against Sri Lanka in series. India achieved victory in three match ODI series which was played from 18 July to 23 July.

On the other hand India lost T20I series against Sri Lanka under the captaincy of Shikhar Dhawan.

Selection committee chief, Chetan Sharma did not reveal the reason of not including Shikhar Dhawan in Indian squad for T20 World Cup 2021.

“Shikhar is a very important player for us. Can’t disclose the discussion. He is in the loop. We thought the need of the hour was to look at others and rest him,” Chetan Sharma said during a virtual press meet on September 8.

Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav are also not included in Indian squad for T20 World Cup 2021.
