Recently Ravichandran Ashwin also expressed his views with the help of a YouTube video. Ashwin expressed his distress on the celebration of NZ with the trophy, which Indians also dreamed and worked to hold.
New Zealand dressing all the players were on cloud nine when Ross Taylor hit four on the ball of Mohammed Shami and complete the chase of the 139-run target to defeat Virat Kohli-led India.

It is really difficult to see your opponent team celebrating their victory against you. Heart sinks after when somebody celebrates the victory against oneself. Ashwin stated that New Zealand players follow the practice of celebrating in the dressing room with trophies and drinks. Ashwin said it was very difficult for him to see such a celebration and this is a negative aspect of having a room above ground.
Ashwin told that their celebration continues till 12 ‘o clock and they also came at the pitch to celebrate.
Ashwin stated that he felt quite upset as his team was not able to able to do such a celebration; instead, they all were very sad because of their loss.
“After the match, New Zealand has this custom of celebrating with the trophy and a few drinks in the dressing room. It was tough to see it. I think it is the flip side of having a room above the ground. They celebrated until 12. They even arrived at the pitch, and it sounded like a war cry to express their happiness. It was quite upsetting to see as we couldn’t make it,” Ashwin said in the video.
At that time New Zealand players were full of joys of spring and on the other hand, Indian players seemed to be down in the mouth. It is really difficult for a warrior to see his opponent celebrating after defeating him.
