Families of Indian players can accompany them for England tour:
Indian Cricket team will be leaving for UK on June 3.
Men and Women cricketers of India are not permitted to travel to UK with their families. The UK government has allowed the families of players to accompany them on the tour for England. Families of Indian players can accompany them for England tour.
Indian cricket team will be playing the World Test Championship Final against England and also five Tests against England. Indian Women cricket team is slated to play 1 off Test match, 3 ODIs and several T20Is on the tour.
Families of Indian players can accompany them for England tour and family members of some of the cricketers are in isolation in Mumbai. The players will have to be in isolation period in Southampton. After completing their isolation period the Women’s cricketers will be moving to Bristol to feature in a one-off Test which is going to start from June 16.
Men’s cricket team will stay put in Southampton where the World Test Championship Final is to be played.
According to ESPNCricinfo, the time period for hard quarantine in Southampton is not confirmed. It was reported few days back, that the cricketers will be allowed to practice at the stadium during quarantine period.
International Cricket Council also confirmed that Government of UK granted an exemption to the WTC Final taking into consideration strict protocols of COVID in the country.
“As per the bio-safety protocols established for the event, in line with UK government and Public Health England requirements, the Indian Men’s team will arrive in the UK on 3 June 2021 via a charter flight and carrying evidence of a negative PCR Test.
“Prior to travelling, the party will have spent 14 days in a bio-secure environment in India during which regular testing will have taken place. Upon landing, they will proceed directly to the on-site hotel at the Hampshire Bowl where they will be tested again before commencing a period of managed isolation,” the media release from ICC read.
The World Test Championship Final between India and New Zealand is scheduled to commence on June 18.The five-match Test series between of India against England will get underway on August 4.Families of Indian players can accompany them for England tour
