Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja should play in Final of WTC: MSK Prasad
ICC World Test Championship final is coming closer. India and New Zealand both the camps would be making strategies for playing along with identifying the best combination.
Final of World Test Championship is scheduled to commence from June 18 at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
Team India squad of 20 players has reached England. Selection of 11 players won’t be easy for captain, Virat Kohli and the team management.
Team India has already landed in England on June 3 and now serving a quarantine period of 10 days. They will be allowed to meet each other and practice after their quarantine period is over.
Team India will not be having much time to groove. On the other hand, New Zealand team is playing a two-match Test series against host England. Thus New Zealand can be better aware of the conditions and can easily identify their best playing XI.
Most difficult selection will be choosing one between Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja as both have been magnificent for India in red-ball cricket. Giving the chance to one of them would be a harsh call.
Many fans and experts have the opinion that both of them should be selected for final battle because of their three-dimensional skills. According to some fans and experts Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja should play in Final of WTC.
Former India chief selector and former Indian wicketkeeper, MSK Prasad is having the same opinion regarding this matter. He his having opinion that Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja should play in Final of WTC.
In an interaction with Cricket.com, MSK Prasad expressed his opinion that both Ashwin and Jadeja should be included in the team for final of World Test Championship as both are spin-bowling all-rounders. Seam-bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya will not be part of team for final of WTC.
MSK Prasad also highlighted that the fact the emergence of Ravindra Jadega as a dependable batsman and Ashwin’s stellar form is need by team India to make required balance.
Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja should play in Final of WTC:
“I firmly believe that both spinners should play. If Hardik Pandya was available and conditions were helpful then I would have said go with it (just one spinner) otherwise you should start treating Jadeja as a batsman because he has been getting runs across formats. He is a complete package,” said MSK Prasad.
“It will be a big blunder if we even think of dropping Ashwin from the playing XI. I know that conditions are going to be different but the kind of experience he has, with the kind of form he is in, all the five bowlers should play,” he added.
