Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suspended the 14th tournament of the Indian Premier League because of rising cases of COVID-19 inside the bio-bubble. Many players from various teams were infected with the coronavirus. As a result, BCCI was forced to suspend IPL 2021.
BCCI can once again complete the remainder of IPL 2021 during the month of September this year. But, if the BCCI decides to complete the remainder of IPL in September this year, many players of New Zealand might not be available as they will be facing the Pakistan cricket team in the United Arab Emirates during the month of September. So, Kane Williamson and other New Zealand players may not be part of IPL 2021 if it is restarted in September.
Due to the series between New Zealand and Pakistan, which is going to be held in September, the Kiwi players may not be present once the tournament is restarted.

Kane Williamson had even been selected as the captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise in the middle of the 14th tournament of the IPL, few days before the tournament was suspended.
