Speculations over Kohli relinquishing white-ball captaincy after the T20 World Cup.
Let's assume this is true.
While Rohit is the obvious candidate, it is also important to look at the man after him.
A vice captain who can take over at around 2025. The younger the better.

Virat Kohli will remain captain for all formats of match: said BCCI
Now, Arun Dhumal censures the reports about replacement of Virat Kohli as captain for ODI format of match by Rohit Sharma. He said that Virat Kohli will remain captain for all formats of match.
Dhumal censured all the claims. He stated that all these reports are rubbish and nothing like that is going to take place. He also stated that BCCI has not done any discussion regarding change in captaincy and Virat Kohli will remain captain for all formats of match.
“This is all rubbish. Nothing (as) such is happening. This is all what you guys (media) are talking about. BCCI has not met or discussed anything on this issue (split captaincy),” Dhumal told IANS. “Virat will remain as the captain (of all formats).”
Earlier, it was also reported that Virat Kohli has been proved a successful captain in Test format of cricket, but there is need of another captain for limited-overs format of the cricket. As a result, Rohit Sharma could be the leader for ODI format of the game.
In spite of having good batsman and bowlers in the team, India suffered loss in ICC events. It was believed that the reason for this can be lack of proper guidance to the team.
Sources also stated that the BCCI top brass took this issue into consideration after the defeat of India against New Zealand in the World Test Championship final which was held in England. As they were quite dissatisfied with the decision regarding team selection by captain Virat Kohli.
Regarding this Dhumal said, “no such meeting took place.”
