Biography of Ishant Sharma :
Ishant Sharma is well known Indian cricketer. He plays in Tests, ODIs and T20Is. He is right-arm fast-medium bowler. He joined the Indian squad for the tour of South Africa in 18 years of age in 2006–07. He took 100 wickets in tests and became the fifth youngest player to take 100 Test wickets in 2011.He became the fifth quickest Indian to take 100 ODI wickets. He one of the fastest Indian bowlers with bowling speed of 150 km/h in international and IPL and the highest was 152.2 km/h when he bowled to Ricky Ponting on Boxing Day Test in 2011. He was awarded Arjuna Award by Indian government in 2020. He took his 300th wicket in Test cricket during India vs England series. In 2021 , he played his 100th test match became second Indian pacer , after Kapil Dev to play 100 test.
Personal Life
Full name of Ishant Sharma is Ishant Vijay Sharma and nicknames are lambu and sonu. He was born on 2 September ,1988 in Delhi,India. His father’s name is Vijay Sharma and mother’s name is Grisha Sharma. He studied till 10th standard in Ganga International school, Delhi. He was married to Pratima Singh, former basketball player in 9 December 2016.

He is lean and tall with height 1.91 cm and weight is 84 kg. He is Having brown eye color and black hair color.
Domestic and International carrier
In domestic matches Ishant plays for Delhi. Ishant was a part of India Under-19s and toured England in 2006.He also toured Pakistan in 2006–07.
In May 2007, Ishant Sharma replaced Munaf Patel in test team for Bangladesh tour and in the second test where he bowled three overs. In July–August 2007 he joined the team for tour of England, tour included 3 tests and 7 ODI matches. In December 2007, Sharma was selected in team. In December 2007 ,Zaheer Khan, RP Singh, and Sreesanth were injured and Ishant got the chance to join the team in the 3rd Test during Pakistan’s tour of India in and grab 5 wickets during the third test in Bangalore. Later ,he was member of India’s squad for the tour of Australia.
In January 2008 got the place in Indian team in second test at the SCG to replace Zaheer Khan as Zaheer was injured. He was in the team for the third Test match at Perth. On the fourth day of the match, he bowled defining spell against Australia. It was fourth test of Ishant Sharma and he rattled Australian captain Ricky Ponting at WACA ground. Exceptional spell resulted in his wicket and India won. In next test in Adelaide Ishant grab two wickets. Ishant came into limelight because of the dream spell to Ricky Pointing and his life gets changed as he astonished everyone by his bowling. He ended the series with the figures of 6/358, an average of 59.66 and a strike rate of 101.0. Because of excellent performance, he was bought for $950,000 by Kolkata Knight Riders in Indian Premier League auction and this was the highest amount for buying a bowler. On 10 February 2008, grab four wickets in the 4th ODI of CB India vs Australia series. He finished the match with figures of 4/38 and was given man of the match. On 18 February 2008, he took two wickets in 7th ODI of CB India versus Australia series. In India versus Australia test series Ishant has taken highest wickets and he was declared as man of the series.
In 2009 Ishant was not part of team for second test against Sri Lanka and Sreesanth replaced him in the team. On 5 October 2010, Ishant has given support to VVS Laxman in 81 -run partnership and contributed 31 runs in first Test in Mohali against Australia.
In the 2011,Ishant Sharma was bought by the Deccan Chargers in Indian Premier League auction. In 12 matches, he picked 11 wickets at an average of 28.54.Five ODIs and three test matches were to be held in West Indies, Ishant Sharma was included in team for the fourth and managed one wicket in two matches. In test innings Ishant Sharma picked three wickets in each innings and took his 100th Test wicket in the second Test. Thus he became the fifth youngest player to get such a achievement. There was tie in second and third Tests and India won the series . Ishant Sharma became leading wicket-taker on with 22 dismissals at an average of 16.86.In July- August 2011 Ishant was part of team for playing four tests in England Ishant Sharma picked 11 wickets. In November India hosted West Indies for three tests and Sharma picked five wickets from in three matches. In 2011 -12 Ishant Sharma was part of team in India versus Australia Tests and took five wickets in four tests at the cost of 451 runs.
In March 2012, Ishant Sharma missed Indian Premier League 2012 because he underwent surgery of his ankle in London.
In 2013 in ODI series against Australia , Ishant Sharma gave away 30 runs in an over. In December 2013 in third ODI against South- Africa he took 4/40,which was one of the excellent performance by him.
In the 2014 Ishant Sharma has shown his outstanding performance taking 7/74 in England second innings held at Lord’s cricket ground, England, bowling India to a 95-run win.
In 2015, in three-match Test series held in Sri Lanka, Ishant Sharma took 13 wickets, including a 5-wicket haul in the third Test at SSC. He was handed a one-match ban by the International Cricket Council in the end of the match because of noisy argument with Dhammika during the match. In this series he took his 200th test wicket and India won the series 2–1.
In August 2018 ,Ishant Sharma took his 250th wicket while playing fourth Test against England. In the fifth test, he took 3 wickets and became second Indian bowler ,after Kapil Dev to take most number of wickets in England. He became second-highest wicket taker by taking 18 wickets. In tour of Australia, in first three tests, he took 11 wickets. On 15 February 2018, official announcement regarding Ishant’s joining of Sussex CCC was done and he became 9th Indian to play for Sussex. In December 2018, he was bought by the Delhi Capitals in auction for Indian Premier League 2019.
In August 2019, in first match of India tour of West Indies held at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium , Ishant Sharma made his 9th 5-wicket haul with figures of 5/43 in the first innings. In second Test match , Ishant made first half-century in Test Cricket. In February 2021, in England Tour of India held at Motera Stadium ,Ishant Sharma played his 100th Test match and became second pacer, after Kapil Dev to play 100 tests. Such an achievement of Ishant is very appreciable.
