Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi is one of the most popular cricketers in the world. He is the favorite cricketer of many fans and is known for his wonderful performance in the cricket world.
Afridi is an all-rounder who is known for leg-spin balling and was wonderful batting.
When he joined in ODI squad of Pakistan he was only 16-years-old.
While playing the second ODI of his carrier against Sri Lanka, he registered the record of smashing the century in just 36 balls.
Nobody was able to break his record of scoring the fastest ODI century for more than 17 years; Corey Anderson did it in the year 2014.
He registered the record of smashing the highest number of maximum in ODI matches and is in the fourth position in the list of run-scorers of Pakistan with 8027 runs.
Coming to his balling skills, he picked up 395 wickets in ODI, 48 wickets in Test matches, and 98 wickets in T20 format match.
Although he took retirement from cricket still he dwells in the hearts of fans and still a star in the world of cricket.
In Khelo Aazadi Se Show on BSports Pakistan YouTube Channel, Afridi was asked to mention the names of those cricketers whom he likes to watch playing. Afridi answered without thinking much and firstly pick the name of his former teammates Inzamam-Ul-Haq and Saeed Anwar. He said that thinking about his initial years Inzamam Ul Haq and Saeed Anwar are the two players who engrossed him.
He further said that if he had to choose from other countries he will pick Brian Lara and Glenn McGrath.
“If we talk about my initial years, Inzamam Ul Haq and Saeed Anwar used to fascinate me. To follow their game, the heard wanted to sit in front of the TV and watch them. I fulfilled my dream when I started playing with them. If you talk about players from other countries, there was Brian Lara and Glenn McGrath,” Afridi said.
He stated that if he has to choose cricketers from today’s start of the cricket world, he will select AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli, Babar Azam. He praised Babar Azam a lot saying that if Babar Azam gives a start, he makes his country win.
“When it comes to the current generation, I would say AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli, Babar Azam… he is outstanding. Fakhar Zaman when in form. He is one player who if gives a start, Pakistan has won matches one-sided. But for that, his consistency is important,” the Afridi added.
